Decatur– Sheila Diane Page, 58, of Decatur, passed away at 9:45 p.m., May 24, 2012, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Sheila’s life will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in HarristownTownship Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the 7 County Kidney Foundation or the Community of Christ Church. Sheila was born February 22, 1954, in Macon County, the daughter of Vere and Evelyn (Sees) Booker. She married Mark Page onMarch 30, 1972. They were able to celebrate 40 years together. Sheila retired from the Macon County Sherriff’s Department after 21 years, and was their records supervisor since 2004. Sheila attended Community of Christ and Rock Springs Church of God.
Sheila was full of life and loved her friends and family immensely. She loved camping with her family, hitting up the thrift stores, shopping, the riverboat and car shows. Sheila was an avid supporter for organ donation, since she received a kidney transplant onAug. 8, 1983. She was one of the longest living kidney transplant patients documented. Her favorite saying was “You don’t take your organs to Heaven because Heaven knows we need them here!!”
Sheila is survived by her husband: Mark of Decatur; daughter: Stacie Page and her boyfriend: David Campbell III with his son Nic; and her granddaughter: Kennedi Knackmuhs who was her pride and joy!
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank all the staff on 4100, especially the nurses and nursing assistants for their care and compassion, as well as all the other doctors and staff that provided care for her. We would also like special thanks to:Dixie, Grace, Connie, Sheila, Shirley, and Jolene for their care while she was home.
